Alumitec Racing delivered an outstanding performance Saturday in Vallelunga at the NASCAR Euro Series, securing a spectacular one-two finish with Nelson Piquet Jr. claiming victory and Gianmarco Ercoli finishing second.
From the opening laps, both Alumitec Racing drivers demonstrated exceptional pace and unwavering determination. With flawless execution, an effective strategy and highly competitive cars, Piquet Jr. and Ercoli quickly established themselves at the front of the field.
Nelson Piquet Jr. produced a remarkable performance behind the wheel. The Brazilian driver managed the pressure, maintained a consistently strong pace and avoided mistakes all the way to the checkered flag. His victory once again confirmed his extraordinary talent, international experience and ability to perform when it matters most.
Right behind him, Gianmarco Ercoli delivered an equally impressive performance. Supported by his home crowd in Italy, Ercoli fought with intensity throughout the race to secure a magnificent second-place finish. The result carried even greater significance as the Italian driver was returning to competition after suffering a displaced fracture to his right index finger in an on-track collision only three weeks earlier.
Despite the injury and the need to wear a specially designed medical support under his racing glove, Ercoli displayed exceptional courage. His second-place finish represented far more than another podium: it was a powerful demonstration of his determination, resilience and commitment to Alumitec Racing.
Yesterday’s one-two finish was also an extraordinary collective achievement. Behind each car stood a dedicated group of mechanics, engineers and team members who worked tirelessly to provide the drivers with the best possible equipment. Their precision, commitment and team spirit played an essential role in delivering this historic result.
“Securing a one-two finish in the NASCAR Euro Series is an immense source of pride. Nelson and Gianmarco delivered exceptional performances, but this result also belongs to our entire team. Every member worked with passion and determination to make this achievement possible. Finishing first and second demonstrates the strength and potential of Alumitec Racing,” said Alain Lord Mounir, Team Principal and CEO of Alumitec Racing.
With Nelson Piquet Jr. standing on the top step of the podium and Gianmarco Ercoli alongside him, Alumitec Racing sent a clear message to its competitors: the team possesses the speed, the drivers and the determination required to compete at the highest level.
It was a memorable day, with two drivers on the podium and one team at the top: Alumitec Racing.
