After an extremely intense weekend at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, along with more than three weeks of relentless work before heading to Circuit Paul Ricard, Alumitec Racing leaves Valencia with mixed emotions following the final race, but also with many positive takeaways that clearly demonstrate the true potential of the organization against some of the strongest teams in the championship.
Our Italian driver and NASCAR Euro champion Gianmarco Ercoli once again confirmed why he remains one of the fastest and most consistent drivers on the grid. Throughout the weekend, Ercoli showed an extremely competitive pace, constantly battling at the front while demonstrating excellent control and consistency during every session. Thanks to a strong race car and the solid technical work of the team, he was able to secure valuable championship points, claim two pole positions, and take one victory, further confirming the constant progress made by Alumitec Racing during the Valencia weekend.
On the side of Raphaël Lessard, the weekend will be remembered for a spectacular performance unfortunately affected by an electrical issue as well as the loss of a podium finish following a controversial penalty issued nine minutes after the alleged infraction was reported, with only one lap remaining in the race. The Canadian driver from Quebec delivered an impressive comeback on Sunday through aggressive driving and smart strategy, showing remarkable speed against several experienced European veterans. Despite a decision that was difficult for the team to accept, Lessard proved that he has the pace necessary to consistently fight for podiums and victories this season.
What can also be said about our exceptional driver Nelson Piquet Jr.. The Brazilian continued his adaptation to the European championship with professionalism and experience. He delivered a solid and consistent performance while also providing valuable technical feedback for the development of the team. His calm approach, race management, and vast international experience continue to play a major role in the growth of Alumitec Racing within the NASCAR Euro Series. Nelson Piquet Jr. also finished on the third step of the podium on Sunday, allowing the team to close the weekend on a positive note. After several weeks of preparation ahead of the French event, the entire team is now working relentlessly to perform at the highest level during the upcoming race weekend.
Our team is now more united than ever. Very exciting announcements will be made in the coming days and weeks, and we will do everything possible not to disappoint our fans during the next event on May 23–24, 2026, at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet.
